Temuera Derek Morrison MNZM, who was born on December 26, 1960, is an actor from New Zealand who first gained recognition in his home country for portraying Dr. Hone Ropata on Shortland Street. He is highly praised for his portrayal of Jake The Muss Heke in Once Were Warriors (1994) and its sequel in 1999. Morrison gained international fame through his roles in the Star Wars franchise, where he portrayed Jango Fett and his genetic clones, such as the clone troopers and Boba Fett. He debuted as Jango Fett in the 2002 Star Wars movie Attack of the Clones. He voiced Boba Fett in The Empire Strikes Back (2004 re-release) and video games, and later starred as Boba in The Mandalorian (2019–present) and The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022). In 2022, Morrison appeared in a recurring role on Echo 3, a black ops thriller series. Morrison is known for voicing Chief Tui, the father of Moana, in Disney's Moana (2016), and for his role as Tom Curry, father of Arthur Curry, in Aquaman (2018), The Flash (2023), and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023). Early life Born in Rotorua on 26 December 1960, Morrison hails from the North Island of New Zealand. His parents are Hana Morrison (née Stafford) and musician Laurie Morrison. Morrison's heritage includes Māori whakapapa of Te Arawa (Ngāti Whakaue) and Tainui (Ngāti Maniapoto, Ngāti Rarua), along with Scottish and Irish ancestry. Taini Morrison, his sister, was a performer, and his uncle, Sir Howard Morrison, was a musician. Morrison completed his secondary schooling at Wesley College (Auckland) and Western Heights High School (Rotorua).
